The Memorial Day Matadors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. They were dealt a 54-18 defeat at the hands of Robert Toombs Christian Academy. Memorial Day has struggled against Robert Toombs Christian Academy recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
McKenzie King and Jaylnn Brown certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. King scored eight points, while Brown scored eight points.
Memorial Day's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for Robert Toombs Christian Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Memorial Day will take on Twiggs Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial Day is facing Twiggs Academy at the right time seeing as Twiggs Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Robert Toombs Christian Academy, they and Windsor Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Windsor Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 41 on Friday.
