Baseball Recap: Lovelady Has No Trouble Against Latexo

Lovelady won the last time they faced Latexo and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 17-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brady Mikes made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Mikes was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Brady McCullough was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Ryder Lovell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Lovelady was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lovelady's win bumped their record up to 12-9-1. As for Latexo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lovelady and Latexo will both be playing Centerville the next time they take the field. The Lions will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Tigers will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
