Softball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

Madison and Lincoln Charter squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Madison had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Patriots have suffered since May 16, 2024.

Addie Sams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Madison is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Lincoln Charter, Owen, and Owen. As for the Eagles, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lincoln Charter, they will face off against Owen on Friday. The Warhorses will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
