Basketball Recap: Simeon Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Simeon can now relate to. They fell just short of the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors by a score of 50-48 on Tuesday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Simeon still got an impressive performance from Dijiona Berrien, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Berrien has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Howard, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Simeon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perspectives Leadership/Technology to victory, but perhaps none more so than Catrina Sanders, who put up 16 points and four steals. That's the most points Sanders has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Morgan, who scored 12 points and three steals.

Simeon's defeat dropped their record down to 16-15. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Simeon nor Perspectives Leadership/Technology have any future games scheduled.
