Softball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short

Foothill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gahr Gladiators.

Violet Bonnet and Brooklyn Austin did some serious damage despite the final result: Bonnet went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Austin scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those four RBI gave Bonnet a new career-high. Rodriguez Haley was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gahr, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Foothill didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-9 defeat against Trabuco Hills on the 27th. As for Gahr, they have also already played their next match, a 6-2 loss against Redondo Union on the 26th.
