Softball Recap: Kearny Comes Up Short

If Kearny was riding high fresh off their 27-21 takedown of Hoover on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Komets came up short against the Lincoln Hornets on Friday, falling 14-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Komets of the 18-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Kearny saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was S. Valdez, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Kearny dropped their record down to 6-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Kearny has already played their next game, a 9-7 defeat against High Tech SD on the 30th. As for Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-13 win against San Ysidro on the 28th.
