Volleyball Recap: West Florida Starts Season with Win on the Road

West Florida had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Escambia Gators by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Jaguars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

West Florida was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 19-25, 25-19, 26-24.

Escambia dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, West Florida and Escambia will both be playing Pensacola the next time they take the court. The Gators will head out to face the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Jaguars will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
