Recap: Jefferson Dragons vs. Gaither Cowboys
The Jefferson Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 13th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Gaither, falling 63-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Jefferson has suffered since December 5, 2023.
Joslyn Thornton was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points for Gaither. Another player making a difference was Carolyn Emanuel, who scored 11 points.
Jefferson's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Gaither, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-8.
