Volleyball Game Preview: Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons vs. Silver Lake Mustangs

Wilcox-Hildreth is 2-8 against Silver Lake since October of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Mustangs.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Wilcox-Hildreth duked it out with Southern Valley on Thursday. The Falcons took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

While Wilcox-Hildreth was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Silver Lake beat Lawrence-Nelson 3-1 on Thursday.

Silver Lake had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-9.

Wilcox-Hildreth's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Silver Lake, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6.

Wilcox-Hildreth came out on top in a nail-biter against Silver Lake in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
