Volleyball Recap: Hiawatha Red Hawks vs. Centralia Panthers
Hiawatha lost against Centralia back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Red Hawks fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Hiawatha started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-21, 25-17.
Adison Williams paced Hiawatha's offense, picking up six kills. Williams really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 11. Brynnan Boye controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Hiawatha's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Centralia, the victory was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-1.
Hiawatha didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Doniphan West on the 20th. As for Centralia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Jefferson County North on the 20th.
