Basketball Recap: ACERO Garcia Takes a Loss

ACERO Garcia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 41-20 to the EPIC Academy The Legends. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the The Legends apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

EPIC Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mariah Clark, who posted 23 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Clark has scored at least a third of EPIC Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaliyah Williams-Ellis, who had 14 points.

ACERO Garcia's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for EPIC Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

ACERO Garcia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 0-0 defeat against Gage Park on the 24th. As for EPIC Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-25 loss against Horizon Science Academy-Southwest on the 24th.
