Baseball Recap: Wayne Triumphs

The Wayne Blue Devils were able to grind out a solid win over the York Dukes on Friday, taking the game 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Jaxson Kneifl was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Kneifl wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Drew Reinhardt, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Wayne hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

Wayne's record now sits at 9-5. As for York, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-5.

Wayne has already played their next contest (against Mount Michael Benedictine), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for York, they will face off against Twin River at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
