Recap: Edison Tech Inventors vs. Utica Academy of Science Atoms
The Edison Tech Inventors pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 88-58 defeat at the hands of Utica Academy of Science.
Doneilious King j.r was his usual excellent self, scoring 47 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Utica Academy of Science. The contest was King j.r's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Akol Machteng was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Edison Tech now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Utica Academy of Science, their win bumped their record up to 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edison Tech will face off against Eastridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Eastridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Edison Tech likes a good challenge. As for Utica Academy of Science, they will head out on the road to face off against Carthage at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Carthage's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Utica Academy of Science has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
