Volleyball Recap: Sand Creek Takes a Loss

Sand Creek suffered their biggest defeat since March 6th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red-Tailed Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Sand Creek was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-13.

Devin Molia paced Sand Creek's offense, picking up nine kills. Molia got some help from Joseph Tran and his 19 assists.

Sand Creek has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.

Looking ahead, Sand Creek will square off against Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they will challenge Fountain-Fort Carson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red-Tailed Hawks are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
