If Dayton Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Worthington Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Jack Smolenski. The Warriors came out on top against the WARRIORS by a score of 51-38 on Friday with plenty of help from Smolenski, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Worthington Christian is 2-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise.

Several WARRIORS players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brody Schmidt, who threw for 231 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 90 yards and one score. Jacob Culter was another key back, rushing for 100 yards and one touchdown.

Worthington Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points over those games. As for Dayton Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Worthington Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 36-33 victory against Waverly on the 24th. As for Dayton Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 46-0 win against Thurgood Marshall on the 24th.
