Osbourn Park dropped their record down to 11-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Patriot Pioneers by a score of 5-4. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Mia Gamble was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Jenna Wilson was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
As for Patriot, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games.
On Patriot's side, Natalie Stanton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits. Stanton has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kiran Kapur was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
