Baseball Game Preview: Wausaukee Rangers vs. Gresham Community Wildcats

The Wausaukee Rangers will venture away from home to square off against the Gresham Community Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wausaukee has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with 13 straight defeats, while Gresham Community will come in with six straight wins.

Wausaukee lost 16-7 to Florence on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gresham Community). Everything went their way against White Lake on Thursday as they made off with an 18-1 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Gresham Community pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Wausaukee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.

Wausaukee took their win against Gresham Community in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 9-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
