Softball Recap: Robinson Bulldogs vs. Concord Spiders

Robinson scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past the Concord Spiders 26-9. With that victory, Robinson brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Aniyah Jones made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits. Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring five runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

In other batting news, Robinson got a massive performance out of Nichols Kendra, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Kendall Stephens was another key contributor, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

On Concord's side, Peighton Porter was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Aagaard, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Robinson's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12. As for Concord, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Robinson will take on Salisbury at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Concord, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against West Rowan at 5:30 p.m. West Rowan will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Concord surely won't give up without a fight.
