Football Recap: Carmelo Dixon and Anthony Harris Secure Win for Largo

Largo entered their tilt with Steinbrenner on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 34-21 win over the Warriors. This was payback for the Packers, who suffered a 7-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Largo's victory came down to the chemistry between Carmelo Dixon and his top target Anthony Harris. Dixon threw for 177 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes while Harris gained 170 total yards and two touchdowns. Harris was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.

Largo's run defense was locked in: Steinbrenner could only muster 2.2 yards per carry. While one picked up at least seven total tackles, Kamarion Matthews stood above the rest. He forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss). Largo is a perfect 3-0 when they shut down the run game so well.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rylen Dutka, who threw for 349 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 33 yards and one score. 100 of Dutka's passing yards were hauled in by Chance Robertson.

Largo's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Steinbrenner, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Largo will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against East Lake at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. The Packers will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Steinbrenner, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-0 loss against Armwood on the 17th.
