Volleyball Recap: Dr. Phillips Falls Short of Horizon in the Playoffs

Dr. Phillips and Horizon squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Dr. Phillips had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Hawks. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Dr. Phillips' loss came despite strong showings from Evan Cervantes and Nicholas Del Rossi. Cervantes had 14 digs, while Del Rossi had eight digs and two aces. Del Rossi is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 19 or more in each of the last 15 games he's played.

Dr. Phillips' loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Horizon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.

Dr. Phillips wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against George Jenkins on the 6th. As for Horizon, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Freedom on the 1st.
