Softball Recap: Eastbrook Wins Going Away Against Lewis Cass

Eastbrook gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Lewis Cass Kings. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Kings: they've now won four in a row.

Delanie Elliott made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caleigh Perry, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Braelee McNutt was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Eastbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 10-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Eastbrook's record is now 12-7. As for Lewis Cass, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
