Soccer Recap: Saint Andrew's Comes Up Short

After soaring to four goals the game before, Saint Andrew was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Pine Crest Panthers. While losing is never fun, Saint Andrew's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Pine Crest are ranked 25th).

Saint Andrew's goal came courtesy of Delfina Banegas, who's now up to five this season.

Saint Andrew's has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-3 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those eight contests. As for Pine Crest, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2-1.

Looking ahead, Saint Andrew's will venture away from home to face off against North Broward Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint Andrew's defense better be ready for this one: North Broward Prep have averaged an impressive 3.7 goals per game this season. As for Pine Crest, they will be playing at home against Highlands Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
