Football Recap: New Braunfels Unicorns vs. MacArthur Brahmas

New Braunfels extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 35-7 win over the MacArthur Brahmas. The Unicorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 26 points or more this season.

New Braunfels' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was BROCK STEWART, who rushed for 112 yards and one score on only nine carries. That's the most rushing yards STEWART has posted since back in October of 2024. New Braunfels also got a significant boost from CALEB MOORE, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: New Braunfels was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MacArthur only rushed for 142 rushing yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to New Braunfels' defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: ROCCO DESANTO, MALACHI GRANT, and COOPER SHOOT, who each picked up one sack apiece. As for MacArthur, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. When it comes to explaining why MacArthur lost, don't look at Trevin Cherrington. Despite the final result, he rushed for 128 yards and one TD. Cherrington showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 53 yards.
