Softball Recap: Klein Snags Ninth Win in Last 12 Games

Klein owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Klein Collins Tigers with a sharp 7-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bearkats have posted against the Tigers since April 16, 2021.

Madilyn Schultz made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Klein let Constance Hart and Avery Siddoway run wild. Hart scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Siddoway went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two runs gave Hart a new career-high. Megan Meinhardt also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Klein has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. Klein Collins is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Looking ahead, Klein will challenge Tomball at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Tomball will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Klein surely won't give up without a fight. As for Klein Collins, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Klein Collins Tigers duke it out with Klein Oak Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Their pitchers better be ready for this one: Klein Oak has averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
