Basketball Recap: Concord Takes Down Ledford in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Concord had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Ledford Panthers 59-56.

Concord was led to victory by Jayden Beyan and Kyzen Coleman. Beyan shot 56% from the field on his way to 20 points and four steals, while Coleman went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The matchup was Beyan's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Reid, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Ledford lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bryson Allred, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024. Isaiah Peele was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 17 points.

Concord pushed their record up to 19-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points over those games. As for Ledford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-6 record this season.

Concord didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-42 loss against Central Davidson on the 28th. Ledford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
