Riverside came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Carbondale Area Chargers 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Connor McNally made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Nicholas Bohenek was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Sosa, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Riverside pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs across that stretch. As for Carbondale Area, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

As of now, neither Riverside nor the Chargers have any future games scheduled.
