Softball Game Preview: Chesapeake Cougars vs. Arundel Wildcats

Chesapeake has gone 8-2 against Arundel recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars will challenge the Wildcats. Chesapeake's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Arundel's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Chesapeake is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Severn Run get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Arundel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Bennett on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Clippers: they've now won three in a row.

Chesapeake has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
