Game recap: Fleming High School Football Team defeats Rockbridge County

After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by Warren Craft in the first quarter, Fleming (Roanoke, Va.) was up 28-7 at the half.

The Colonels grew their lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. Fleming's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by Jerome Hill.

A big 21-point second quarter helped FHS secure the win. The Roanoke school scored on a passing touchdown, a Hill touchdown run and a touchdown run by Hill in the quarter.

Rockbridge County's only touchdown came on a 21-yard pass in the second quarter.



The Colonels came in allowing an average of 27.9 points per game this season.

The defeat comes as a step back for Rockbridge County, which notched a 24-21 victory over Staunton River in its previous outing. The win was a nice bounce back for Fleming, which lost to Lord Botetourt last week, 20-18.
