Baseball Recap: Rockcastle County Takes a Loss

Rockcastle County fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Garrard County on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Lions by a score of 4-3. The Rockets have struggled against the Golden Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Zeke Fain made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Phoenix Pittman, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Rockcastle County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Garrard County, their win ended an eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockcastle County will take on Danville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Garrard County, they will face off against Madison Southern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
