Basketball Game Preview: Wayne Badgers vs. Duchesne Eagles

The Wayne Badgers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Duchesne Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayne is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Wayne didn't have too much trouble with Monument Valley as they won 53-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Badgers.

Wayne found their leader in sophomore AJ VanDyke, who went 9 of 18 on her way to 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points VanDyke has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Timber Wood, who posted ten points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Duchesne suffered their closest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of Beaver by a score of 48-45. The Eagles have struggled against the Beavers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Wayne's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Duchesne, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Wayne took their victory against Duchesne in their previous matchup back in December of 2016 by a conclusive 61-35. Does Wayne have another victory up their sleeve, or will Duchesne turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
