Crittenden County is 1-9 against Caldwell County since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Crittenden County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Fort Campbell as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rockets' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Hudson Stokes was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Crittenden County let Eli Lovell and Quinn Summers run wild. Lovell went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Summers went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Lovell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Asa McCord, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Caldwell County has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.92 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against Lyon County, falling 16-3. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Lyons: they've now lost five in a row.
Caldwell County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Ginn, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Derek Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Crittenden County's win bumped their record up to 10-16-1. As for Caldwell County, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-5.
