Basketball Recap: Leuzinger Drops Highest Score of Season Against Northridge Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leuzinger). They blew past the Northridge Academy Pumas, posting an 88-22 victory. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Olympians with their most commanding win of the season.

Tatyana Aubry was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine steals. Leuzinger is undefeated when Aubry posts five or more steals, but 4-8 otherwise. Brianna Ike was another key player, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten boards.

Leuzinger was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Leuzinger pushed their record up to 9-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Northridge Academy, they moved to 9-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leuzinger will face off against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Leuzinger knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Centennial likes a good challenge. As for Northridge Academy, they will challenge Sherman Oaks CES at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
