Softball Recap: Dexter Comes Up Short

Dexter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lincoln Railsplitters. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dreadnaughts of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Dexter's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dexter will venture away from home to take on Pinckney at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lincoln, they will face off against Tecumseh at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
