Baseball Preview: Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets vs. Upper Scioto Valley Rams        
        
		
            Cory-Rawson is preparing for their first  conference matchup of the season  on Monday. They will take on the Upper Scioto Valley Rams at 5:00  p.m. Upper Scioto Valley took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cory-Rawson, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Cory-Rawson was able to grind out a solid  win over Ada, taking the game  6-3.
 Mason Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 18 Ks.
 At the plate, Cory-Rawson let  Dom Moon and  Lane Banner run wild. Moon  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while  Banner  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  double. Those  three  hits gave  Banner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hunter Cosart, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.
 Cory-Rawson  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ada only posted  an  OBP of  .250.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Upper Scioto Valley's offense. They lost  9-0 to New Knoxville on Thursday. The Rams have struggled against the Rangers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
 Upper Scioto Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Macain Underwood, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base.
 The  victory  got Cory-Rawson back to even at 1-1. As for Upper Scioto Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Cory-Rawson might still be hurting after the  13-3 defeat they got from Upper Scioto Valley  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2024. Can the Fighting Hornets avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
