Softball Recap: Stuarts Draft Sets Scoring Season-High Against Buckingham

Stuarts Draft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 12-7 to the Buckingham Knights. One positive for the Cougars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Sierra Whetsel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lillian Krieg, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Stuarts Draft's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Buckingham, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stuarts Draft will challenge Nelson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Buckingham, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Altavista at 7:00 p.m. on April 7.
