Basketball Recap: Rosamond Comes Up Short

If Rosamond was riding high fresh off their 76-23 takedown of Mammoth last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rosamond Roadrunners had to suffer through a 73-46 loss at the hands of the California City Ravens. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Roadrunners have suffered against the Ravens since February 13, 2020.

California City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown, who posted 20 points and three steals. The matchup was Brown's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery 'Skywalker' Spears, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards.

Rosamond's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for California City, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rosamond will take on Tehachapi in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. California City and Desert will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
