Basketball Recap: North Summit Extends Winning Streak to Seven

North Summit waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the San Juan Broncos 78-25. The Braves' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

North Summit found their leader in sophomore Ellie Stephens, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 23 rebounds. Stephens is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Hartlynn Richins was another key player, going 7 of 10 on her way to 14 points along with seven assists and five boards.

North Summit was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

North Summit pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points per game. As for San Juan, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

North Summit didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-36 victory against Grand County on the 11th. As for San Juan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-17 loss against Duchesne on the 11th.
