After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Albany, Bedford North Lawrence was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Bloomington North Cougars. The victory continues a trend for the Stars in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Cal Gates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Tate Tanskley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Bedford North Lawrence's record is now 10-4. As for Bloomington North, they dropped their record down to 8-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Bedford North Lawrence will welcome North Daviess at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Stars are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bloomington North, they are taking a road trip to face off against Center Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.1, the Trojans 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
