Football Game Preview: Lakewood Cougars vs. Lynden Lions + How To Watch

Lakewood is 1-8 against Lynden since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cougars will host the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lakewood is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 37 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Anacortes on Saturday. They took a blow against the Seahawks, falling 78-7. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-0.

Meanwhile, Lynden faced Archbishop Murphy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lions were outmatched by the Wildcats and fell 56-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Lynden, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Lakewood was taken down by Lynden 50-8 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down 37-8.
