Preview: Glenpool Warriors vs. McAlester Buffaloes
Glenpool is 0-5 against McAlester since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Glenpool Warriors will look to defend their home field against the McAlester Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. McAlester took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Glenpool, who comes in off a win.
Glenpool never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against East Central last Friday. They blew past the Cardinals, posting a 50-15 win on the road.
Meanwhile, McAlester was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 27-22 to Sapulpa.
Despite their loss, McAlester saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Caden Lesnau, who rushed for 117 yards, and also threw for 78 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Watkins, who gained 119 total yards and two touchdowns.
Glenpool's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for McAlester, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Glenpool took a serious blow against McAlester in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 44-6. Thankfully for Glenpool, Chaz Bradley (who picked up 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
