Basketball Game Preview: Magdalena Steers vs. Tularosa Wildcats

Magdalena and Tularosa are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Magdalena Steers will welcome the Tularosa Wildcats at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Thursday, Magdalena opened the new year with a less-than-successful 47-40 defeat to Fort Sumner/House. The Steers have struggled against Fort Sumner/House recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Tularosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by West Las Vegas and fell 63-27. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Dons are ranked 26th).

Magdalena's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Tularosa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
