League recap: Red Oak surprises Lancaster

Red Oak scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Lancaster, 17-0. At the time, the Tigers were ranked 21st in the state, while the Hawks were 269th.

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Red Oak, who took down 21st ranked Lancaster, 17-0. Cameron Bausley ran for 126 yards in the win.

Mansfield Legacy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brady Burke threw for 201 and three touchdowns and Marchie Murdock had 150 yards receiving. On the ground Kijana Amous chipped in 264 yards.

Mansfield Summit's Antonio Bennett and Patrick Tshituka have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A Region II District 15 in both passing and receiving yards. Bennett has thrown for 1644 yards this season, while Tshituka has 28 catches for 605 yards. Bausley from Mike Shields' team leads the league in rushing with 1063 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Ennis takes on second place Lancaster. Last week, Ennis topped the Jaguars, while Chris Gilbert's team fell to the Hawks.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Tigers take on the Lions. Lancaster has allowed 105 points this season, while Ennis has given up 134. The Tigers allowed 17 points last week as they fell to Red Oak.

The Hawks moved up to 195 from 269 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Red Oak climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Lancaster 17-0.
