Softball Recap: Lennox Academy's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lennox Academy waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Brentwood School Eagles as they made off with a 14-5 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.

Valeria Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michel Estrada, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stacey Torres, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Lennox Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.

Lennox Academy's record now sits at 12-6. As for Brentwood School, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Lennox Academy has already played their next contest, an 18-1 victory against Animo Leadership on the 29th. As for Brentwood School, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-1 defeat against Viewpoint on the 29th.
