Volleyball Recap: Deerfield Academy Starts Season with Win Against Austin Prep

Deerfield Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against the Austin Prep Cougars by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Big Green, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Deerfield Academy was: they took both sets by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-11.

This is the second loss in a row for Austin Prep and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Deerfield Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Greenwich Academy at 1:45 p.m. on the 27th. As for Austin Prep, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Northfield Mount Hermon on the 13th.
