Basketball Game Preview: Dow Chargers vs. Traverse City Central Trojans

The Dow Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Traverse City Central Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Dow is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

Dow saw some tournament action on Friday. They walked away with a 58-49 win over Midland. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Chargers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Chemics are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, Traverse City Central hadn't done well against Marquette recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Traverse City Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over Marquette. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Traverse City Central pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points over those games. As for Dow, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.

Dow strolled past Traverse City Central in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a score of 60-42. Does Dow have another victory up their sleeve, or will Traverse City Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
