Basketball Game Preview: Schlagle Stallions vs. Washington Wildcats

Schlagle hasn't had much luck against Washington recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Schlagle Stallions will challenge the Washington Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Schlagle is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-35 heartbreaker at the hands of North. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Stallions came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the RedHawks are ranked 329th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Washington challenged Lee's Summit on Friday. Washington took a 78-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lee's Summit. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (65), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Schlagle will have to contain Elliott Berry Jr. as he made an impact in Washington's last game. He went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points. Another player making a difference was Jamari Williams, who went 7 of 10 en route to 17 points.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Schlagle, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Schlagle came up short against Washington when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 43-33. Can Schlagle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
