After flying high against South Garner last Monday, Clayton came back down to earth. The Comets fell just short of the Garner Trojans by a score of 3-2 on Monday. Clayton's loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Clayton's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 15-3-1. As for Garner, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Clayton will square off against rival Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Garner is set to take on their familiar foe Fuquay - Varina at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
