Soccer Game Preview: Viera vs. Treasure Coast

The Viera Hawks will head out to face off against the Treasure Coast Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Viera is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Friday, Viera got the win against East Ridge by a conclusive 6-1. The Hawks better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Eva McMenemy-Hoang, as she scored every single goal for her team.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Treasure Coast). Their defense stepped up to hand Central an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Cobras are ranked 477th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Treasure Coast used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Central. And. Kaviya Brown made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Viera pushed their record up to 8-0-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Treasure Coast, the win got them back to even at 3-3-3.

Viera took their victory against Treasure Coast in their previous matchup back in November by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Viera since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
