Basketball Game Preview: High Tech CV Bruins vs. Monte Vista Monarchs

Having just played yesterday, the High Tech CV Bruins will jump right back in to play the Monte Vista Monarchs at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. High Tech CV is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season.

On Friday, High Tech CV needed a bit of extra time to put away Santana. They snuck past the Sultans with a 59-54 victory.

It was another big night for Kyle Ilagan, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Uri Gomez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Central on Friday, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Monarchs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 867th, while the Spartans are ranked 367th).

Monte Vista is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for High Tech CV, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6.
