Softball Game Preview: Conway Tigers vs. Carolina Forest Panthers

For the second straight game, Conway will face off against Carolina Forest. The Tigers will host the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Conway made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carolina Forest, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers never let the Panthers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Conway got a massive performance out of Addison Fogle, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Fogle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Black, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Fogle wasn't the only one making solid contact: Conway kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The Tigers are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Conway is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Carolina Forest, they moved to 14-9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Conway has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Carolina Forest struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.9 strikeouts.
